Apocolyse Energy

My  friend's Tarot Facebook group (Cynthia EkrenTarot) was discussing about the tremendous amount of energy that’s making us all uneasy right now. I came up with an interesting reading from my new Tarot deck, the Sedona Vortex Tarot.
After I read it, I wondered if this was the same type of energy going on the year that my Henri, cat, had been wandering around for four months out in the woods. She was supposed to be learning from Bast and Sehkmet. However, she chose not to use what she learned out there. I got the nine of Boynton Canyon again - You think you are secure but maybe you are not. Out of insecurity we want to stay curled up in the energy we already know even if it's scary and uncomfortable.  Is this really the time to do that?
Sometimes we feel the passion and calling to do something great or assist in something greater than ourselves but we are afraid to step forward into that energy. It’s just too much for us.
Henri has chosen not to share much about that time or what’s she’s supposed to do. I am still awaiting instructions from the Goddesses through her.  I think I am insecure in going forward myself.  Is that how you are feeling right now?Perhaps this is a good time to learn what to do to step into your own power.  Learn what you can do and begin to use it.

Here's the reading with photo of the cards: (I thought I pulled one card but had two.  Then three fell out of the deck)

Sounds like we are all getting excited and releasing passionate emotions which are going into the atmosphere. That’s the main thing causing the upset in the energetic world. However, we have the choice what we want to do with that energy do you want to use it to bring good to do things that you are really passionate about in your life or to change something in your life or you want to be stuck right where you are. That was the first two cards' messages.

The last cards (that fell out) are about controlling your passion and using it for self realization, being yourself in that energy. Also maybe Mother Nature is kind of laughing at us and reminds us that we think we’re secure but we’re really not. And, lastly, this all leads to clean up your act to reveal truth and get to a place of enlightenment.

How Do you tell someone's in pain?

I know people who will stub their toe, scream and carry-on not just for the first 10 minutes, but for the next three days even if it’s not even bruised. I also know people who can hit their toe pulling their toenail off, gushing blood and barely say ouch.
My point is you can’t really tell how deep a person's pain is nor can you tell what kind of trauma has happened to cause it. Not only is a person's pain felt differently by each but a trauma that causes a life changing event to one person can be something that seems very small to someone else.

Telling a child she’s stupid or an ignoramus or crazy could possibly just fall off like water off a duck but equally could make that child withdraw, feel unworthy or maybe even angry. If you have a talent that is the cause of someone calling you that just think of the harm it does.

On one hand I was always told I was smart. On the other hand very little of what I did earned approval or appreciation from my family. I always thought I wasn’t enough that I had to struggle to earn that approval.  I had this gift I didn’t know how to expand until rather late in life. I didn’t realize that the family didn’t understand I had the gift. How could they have known if I didn’t know? I somehow lost that knowledge in the struggle to fit in. OK! If you don’t like me because I’m smart, I won’t be that smart. If you don’t like me because I’m different, I won’t be different.
So when people ask me for my story I never know what to say. For just wanting approval of your parents and your family doesn’t really count as a trauma, does it? Do you have to go through a trauma in order to have a gift? I suppose that’s another Conversation, isn’t it?
I do have a gift. I have learned how to use it. I can help. If you think what you’ve gone through is too small but it still makes you hurt, I can help. If you have any other kind of pain physical, emotional, spiritual I can also help. But I can’t tell from here if you’re hurting, you have to tell me. You have to ask. I hope you do. I would love to help.

What does a cat do when there are choices to be made?

Bast Says relax into it.  You know you have to eat. You have to sleep.  When those are taken care of you bath and take time to think.  Choices.  Play?  Nap? Plan the next hunt?  So easy.  Take opportunities when they come up. Step up.  Get it done.

That's pretty good advice.  People have to do a little more thinking.  Play? Nap? Plan?  Planning.  There's much more for humans to plan.  There are so many choices.  Which ones do I need to plan for first?  Do I have to do those simultaneously?  I'm getting carried away.  Wait.

First - take care of your own needs and any obligations you have promised to others.  Your word is important to keep.

Next - take time to play.  This is like putting money for yourself from your paycheck into a savings account first before you spend it on other things. Make time for something social and fun.

Then - those looming choices.  Taking opportunities when they arise is great advice.  Sometimes we have to start making opportunities. I take opportunities to work at expositions as often as possible.  I took the opportunity to teach classes with the local community education program but only one student signed up.  The classes were canceled.  Time to step up a bit more.  Look for other places to contact where one could hold gatherings or classes.  So many other things also need to be addressed whether you are trying to start new endeavors in your life or just live your best life.

What am I actually doing?  I am concentrating on taking care of me and doing my caregiver work as a way to avoid doing the work I truly want to do.   This is not what Bast means when she advises us to step up.  Certainly take care of yourself and perform your obligations as necessary.  But keep your eye on the hunt always.  How can you pounce on prey if you aren't concentrating and haven't planned ahead.

"For every mortal in search of who and why he was born there is a conspiracy of witnesses who may not have been there at all.  A bit of the teller's dream of himself goes into every answer. There are always circumstances which are indiscernible, and the truth is in their shadow."
Dorothy Salisbury Davis

"There are three sides to every story: your side, my side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each differently."
Robert Evans

A BIT OF the tellers tale goes into each story. When we are telling stories we can’t help but put ourselves into it somewhere in one way or another. Whether it is as the cursed prince or princess or the one who comes to save the one who is cursed, or whether we are the witch who does the cursing, or the poor king and his wife who lose their children to the witch’s enchantment. Occasionally, we end up being the sentient animal – the wronged dragon or the sloth that comes to the rescue but is despised because it’s a sloth even though it’s saved everyone. In the end, we are always the hero of our own tale.

Here is an example:

Being totally irresponsible and childlike, I took his hand, ran out onto the new pavement where we stuffed tree and grass seeds into all the cracks.  Someday maybe a few of the seeds would start to grow, cracking the cement and giving new life to the earth.

Rotten delinquents! They will ruin our walls and roads.

It is our story to tell and, in the end, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. We are the hero of our own story. We are the ones who have to save ourselves. We are the ones who in the end have to save the world or so we think. We are the ones who have to save our loved ones. We are the ones who have to defeat the embarrassment and uncomfortable or the dark evil of misconceptions and misinterpretations of our lives when we allow other people to tell our story.

Are you telling your story or allowing others to tell it for you?

A Different View

Sometime ago, many years, my nephew came into my room to check out the pictures on my wall. I was pleased.  I love when people look at the part of me I put up for myself but also for others to share.  The books and the pictures are my way of showing part of who I am.  They show the whimsical humorous side of me, the magical woo-woo side of me, beauty and mystery through my eyes, the intensity, the lightness and the connection of nature.  More than likely if you open on of the books you will see how my mind works.
The nephew came into the room quietly.  After a moment he got twitchy and put his head down shoulders up.  I asked him what was up?  He finally asked - why do you have that horrible, ugly, dark painting on your wall?  That took me totally by surprise for I look at Goya's View of Toledo as a lovely sunny picture.  It's just a print by the way.  Yes, it has dark greens and grays in it but dark, no.  So I explained to him what I saw. -See! It has sun coming through those billowing clouds and there's washerwomen at the river in the gorge below the town doing their chores in the newly emerged sunshine.  The stones of the city glow.  The radiance from the clouds is miraculous.  This picture makes me happy.  It makes me feel at home.
He looked dubious or skeptical perhaps circling his way from the painting then slouching out of the room. He was around age 11, I think.  I just couldn't imagine why he thought it was dark and ugly.
On thinking of this episode later I realize it's a good thing to take a second look at what's around you seeing it from another view.  Sometimes we are so wrapped up in our own views we forget that other people don't feel the same emotions we feel when we look at something.  They have different references that come from their own experiences.  My nephew was adopted from Guatemala when he was five or six.  While he did have a mother who loved him I'm told he ran the streets wild.  She chose to make an adoption plan for him.  She had many more children some who were also adopted out to the United States. I don't know if I'm correct at why he thought this painting had such a visceral reaction for him but I think he equated happy things with blue sky and bright colors.  I also expect that dark greens and grays held not so good memories for him.
Perhaps what we need to do is to seek out the why or how people are thinking. Discover the differences.  Feel what they may feel.
I wonder if the nephew still thinks View of Toledo is a horrible, ugly, dark picture at age 33?

The Teller's Tale

A bit of the teller's tale goes into each story.  When we tell stories we can't help but put ourselves into it somewhere in one way or another.  Whether it be as the cursed prince or princess or the one who came to save the one who is cursed or whether we are the witch who does the cursing or the poor king and his wife who lose their children to the witch's enchantment.  Occasionally we end up being the sentient animal - the wronged dragon or the sloth that comes to the rescue but is despised because it is a sloth even though it's saved everyone.  Often our story gets a bit warped from what others say.  Sometimes it gets distorted by what we believe of ourselves.
But in the end we are always the hero in our own tale.

Even so it is our story to tell and in the end it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.  We are the hero of our own story.  We are the ones who in the end have to save ourselves.  We are the ones who in the end have to save the world or so we think.  We are the ones who have to save our loved ones and we are the ones who have to defeat the embarrassment and uncomfortable or the dark evil of misconceptions and misinterpretations of our lives when we allow other people to tell our story.

How Bast's and Sehkmet's Path Came To Be

She came back with instructions. This little kitty who escaped into the woods last year. I truly believe that Bast and Sehkmet saved her - with some assistance from Ellen Marie Savage at EarthWater Wellness.
But there was a price to be paid - Henrietta had to study with her Goddesses before they would guide her home.  Henri agreed and studied hard.  However, when push comes to shove, even Powerful Goddesses can’t make a cat do things she doesn’t want to do.  It is with great reluctance that Henri shares anything from her studies,  Perhaps she is just not ready. Henri learned how to fend for herself - hunting, hiding, running, watching, waiting for the right moments.  She learned how to truly be independent but she also eventually learned that you don’t have to do everything yourself.  It’s ok to ask for help.  She finally allowed herself to come home.

Henrietta came back with instructions for a labyrinth dedicated to the Cat Goddesses - Sehkmet and Bast.  So we found a design that was very close to two cats with their tails entwined. Sehkmet and Bast are closely linked.  Some researchers even saying that they are one.  The North and South and different Dynasty's of Egypt do seem to mix up their powers.  Suffice it to say that they are Daughters of the Great God Ra. They were originally vengeful and angry usually protective in nature. Their agenda was Justice. They became protective in a more motherly way in later history.

When you walk Bast’s Path ask for Spirit to help you.  Ask the Goddesses for direction.  Ask for their Blessings.  Find your own spiritual center as your feet move over the ground.  But do not forget to thank them.  These are Goddesses who expect Respect.
